Vintage Chinese Faux Bronze Ornate Tea Pot w/ Images of Court Scenes:
$25.00

Chinese tea pot is, I\'m pretty sure, a 20th Century reproduction of an antique, or actually more of a fantasy piece in the style of an antique piece. Originally the artwork would be hand-painted on rice paper behind glass, or hand-painted porcelain. The artwork on this piece, which depicts court scenes (I think), appears to be on porcelain or ceramic, but I do not think it is hand-painted. There is no obvious sign of a printing process, however, so it\'s a bit of a mystery.
The artwork has an overall pinkish to purple color. One panel is dark purple, and it appears the glass has darkened, which might be a sign of age, but I\'m not really too sure about that.

Size: About 6.75 inches tall (not including handle) x 6.25 inches wide (to end of spout) x 3.25 inches deep

Age: 20th Century. I have seen similar pieces turned into lamps, which was a very mid-century thing to do, so my feeling is it might be from that era when \"Chinese modern\" decor was very popular. I have seen nearly identical pieces advertised as early 1900s, or pre-1949.

Materials: Faux bronze metal, maybe spelter. It is not magnetic and it is very heavy. The artwork appears to be on a ceramic material behind glass.
Marks: Chinese characters molded into the bottom. I do not know what they mean.

Condition: One of the panels has turned dark purple (see photos) The top is bent, but only on the inside where it can\'t be seen. It still fits fine. Other than that, Light wear.
