Vintage Chinese cloisonné letter opener sword in silk gift box.Decoration by a Shanghai cloisonné enamel artist. A stamped and plated sword with no razor edges. The burgundy brocade gift box is handmade with a metal closure. Traditional red fringe tassel. New &never used, only displayed with other souvenirs. Purchased in 1990at Shanghai Department Store, the only government authorizedstore for tourists at this time. A good example of quality before Chinaopened its doors to world commerce.
