Vintage Civil War Era Cavalry Sword. 35\" blade. The sharkskin and wire wrappings are in excellent condition. The sword is unmarked, but on the scabbard toe the initials JCW are stamped on the bottom. JCW was the US inspector for Ames in the late 1850\'s and 1860\'s. Blade has some stains, but is straight and smooth, scabbard does not have any dents and the swords slides in easily. This sword has the same construction and features as an Ames sword, so it could be an unmarked Ames sword used during the Civil War, which would make it a very desirable addition to your collection.
