Collapsible End Table

This is aunique original collapsible wood end table that is hand carved and features leaves, berries and an overall floral themed design. The table is in excellent condition and was made in India(seephotowith label).No two pieces are ever the same, due to the nature of the wood; its varying grain and hue. The table is hand carved from whatappears to besolid rosewood. Each piece of the table was very intricately hand carved all over, each side wall and around the top. The side walls act like legs or a base and fold up conveniently. When set up the base forms an octagonal shape. Carved folding tables were made in the far east in the 19th and early 20th centuries for military officers while on campaign. The top is made from two boards of varying shades that have been joined together. The top was then hand carved in explicit detail. It is notched and fits snugly into the octagonal, hinged base and can be easily removed and the hinged, paneled screen base can be folded into a flat rectangle for easy portability.
