Vintage Collectible \"Seri\" Indian Torote Basket Handcrafted in SonoraHere is a nice example of \"Seri Indian\" basket craftsmanship, handcrafted in Punta Chueca, Sonora by talented weaver Valentina Torres Molina.

These baskets are woven from all natural desertmaterials. Seri women create their exquisite baskets from the gathering of raw desert plants throughthe finished basket, entirely by hand. They are totally organic in every sense of the word andcan take weeks, months, or even years to complete. The Seri women work entirelyfrom memory, neither needing nor using a pattern to create these works of art. Size: 3 7/8\" (three and seven-eighths inches) tall, 6 1/4\" (six and one-quarter inches) in diameter at thebulge, opening at the top is 3\"(three inches). All measurements are approximate.
