This is a very nice looking holster that will fit your Colt Single Action 4 3/4\" perfectly. The maker used heavy duty saddle leather and stitching. The leather is in great condition and the stitching is all intact. It is lightly stamped \"SIMMONS BROS MAKER GOLIAD, TEX.\" We are not sure if it was stamped at the time it was made or later. The Texas Gazetteer lists the Simmons Bros. doing business in Goliad, Texas from 1878 through 1893. It has an unusual design with the flare of the flap, probably to make it more stable. The holster measures 4 1/2\" wide and 8 1/2\" long.
