Vintage Dia De los Muertos (Day of the Dead) Calaveras (Skulls) made in Oaxaca, Mexico for the seasonal market, I believe these were a gift sometime in the early 90\'s but they date from the late 70\'s-very early 80\'s and were probably picked up in either Tijuana or Rosarito Beach, Baja California. These are papier mache, hollow, made to be hung, with fine detail work and glitter accents, there is loss of glitter to the mouth of the smaller skull. The larger skull is just under 5 inches long and 2.5 inches wide, it stands a little over 3 inches tall. The small skull is 2 inches long, 1.25 inches wide and and almost 2 inches tall, measurements are \"rough\". Fine pieces like these are few and far between. These are decorative pieces which I have displayed seasonally, things like this are made every year for the Dia de Los Muertos markets.
