This vintage #N3230VT draftman\'s mechanical pencil pointer from Dietzgen works nicely and is in very good condition. It\'s made of a heavy metal, possibly cast iron. This pointer also includes the original box and instructions. The box is in good vintage condition with intact corners, but does have some paper loss and other minor damage along the top edges. The inside of the box is pretty much covered in graphite residue, as are the instructions (see the last photo above for the residue on the instructions).
According to the box:
\"Simply insert mechanical pencil in sleeve and rotate several times, while holding the pencil firmly. Designed primarily for pointing leads of draftsmen\'s mechanical - pencils, but will point leads of wood pencils after the wood has been cut back with a knife.\"
