Vintage Eleanor Roosevelt Bust

Bust stands about 7.5\" high, including base. It weighs about 2 pounds.

A copyright mark is located on the back of the bust, attributing this work to Victor Lamkay, 1963.

This bust is a copy of the original bust of Eleanor Roosevelt by Victor Lamkay in 1963. These busts were and still are sold today at the Franklin D. RooseveltPresidential Library and Museum. However, the ones that are offered for sale these days are made of resin. This bust is a vintage item and does NOT appear to be made of resin. I believe it is patinated plaster; the level of detail is incredible when compared to Lamkay\'s original and looks nothing like the ones offered for sale today

The bustitself is in great shape, despite the fact that a bit of the finish on the tip of Eleanor\'s nose has been rubbed off. The statuette needs a good cleaning as it is a bit dusty. The back of the base, which is a solid wood block, has some surface issues which could easily be repaired, please see pictures. The front of the base features a small, goldtone metal plaque inscribed with Eleanor Roosevelt\'s signature.
