janart216 Store Vintage Elsa SCHIAPARELLI Signed BRACELET Watermelon Tourmaline Rhinestone NR!
This a fabulous vintage Elsa SCHIAPARELLI signed BRACELET featuring watermelon tourmaline rhinestones set with ornate prongs and surrounded by a rope design in a gold tone metal.
Schiaparelli used these stones also called vitrail in her designs in the 50s and 60s and the bracelet is known as Schiaparelli classic.
This lovely bracelet measures 7 1/2" and it weights over 39 grams! Condition is very good vintage with plating wear to the back as seen in my picture, not uncommon with these pieces. There is oxidation to the underside of the two watermelon stones, the rest of them still retain a lot of color and fire. The safety chain on the bracelet is signed on the closure 1/2012KGF.
As always pictures are part of description, please use them for your personal assessment.
Great addition to your vintage jewelry collection and a piece of history never to be repeated again!
Elsa Schiaparelli (1890–1973) was an Italian Fashion designer. She is regarded as one of the most prominent figures in fashion between the two World Wars, along with Coco Chanel, her greatest rival. Starting with knitwear, Schiaparelli's designs were heavily influenced by surrealists like her collaborators Salvador Dali and Alberto Giacometti, and Dadaists Marcel Duchamp and Man Ray. Her clients included the heiress Daisy Fellowes and actress Mae West. Schiaparelli's business closed in 1954.
