This lovely vintage \"Emir\" Engineers or Jewellers Tool Chest, of 5 short and 3 long drawers, is in \"as found\" condition and has not been repaired or restored by us.

The cabinet carcass is made from stained oak and is finger jointed with reinforced metal corners,these do show some signs of surface rust. Over the years the wood has taken on a super depth of colour and patina, as the cabinet was not designed to be a \"fine\" piece of furniture, but was practical and meant to be used, there are marks, scratches, stains and scuffs to the cabinet and its\' drawers, as you can see from the pictures.

All the drawers slide in and out fine and are sound with no splits or cracks and all have their handles, however, the bottom two are replacements and the bottom of this drawer is bowing downwards.The drawers are lined with green baize, but are oily and will need a good clean or replacing.

The front door fits correctly and slides in to the bottom of the cabinet as it should. The top edge of the carcass has a few nicks an chips where the door has been levered out with a screwdriver.
The handle is well attached, however, the leather has become un-stitched and has cracked in places.

The cabinet has a working key, although this is probably a repalcement.

The original makers name plaque is still present and reads \"Emir, Made In England\".

All in all, this cabinet is in usable condition and it certainly has very many years of service left to give.

It measures 46 cm (18 inches) wide, 22 cm (8 3/4 inches) deep and stands 34 cm (13 1/2 inches) tall.
