Julysia was a hair cream similar to Brylcreem and was advertised as "Widely acknowledged by discerning men as the cream of hairdressings". It was made or supplied by Jules Freres Ltd, SE17 London. They also made other shaving and grooming products.
This double-sided enamel sign would have, originally been attached to the outside wall of a shop or barbers.
The sign is in good original "as found" condition and has not been repaired or restored by us.
There is the usual enamel loss and nibbles to the edge. The side bracket is stable and could still be attached to a wall.The blues and white colours of the enamel have a lovely depth and are still bright. One side is slightly more faded; possibly the "sunny" side!
The sign still looks great and has a charming shabby chic appearance as can be seen in the photographs. Any marks and signs of use just adds character to a delightful piece that has lived a life.

It measures 41 cm (16 inches) wide and 28 cm (11 inches) high.
The bracket is 4 cm (1 1/2 inches) deep.
