Up for offer is a vintage Woman With Cloak hood ornament and wooden base. It may be an original Leverrier?

This is a very interesting piece. It looks to be bronze under the surface finish. I\'m not certain of the surface finish, possibly silver? There are some letters stamped vertically at the bottom portion of the cloak in the middle between where the two cloak pieces come together. The letters I can make out are: possibly a \"V\". I can definitely see two of the letter \"E\". My best guess would be that this is stamped \"LEVERRIER\". The letters are very small. Apparently the original French design was by Leverrier and was signed. American Louis V. Aronson also made a copy of this design which was marked.

We are not experts, so we cannot say whether this is an original or an early reproduction.

The hood ornament measures approximately 6 1/4\" in height when measured from the base of the hood ornament straight up to the top of the head.

Application: This is a universal hood ornament that could be added to any car. It looks to be from the 1920\'s. Please do your own research.

Condition: This is in very good condition for the age.

The wooden base: is nice and solid. It\'s in good condition as well.
