Up for sale here is this nice vintage Fisher Series 40 (FM-40) mono tube tuner. It is in good shape with light to moderate wear. I brought this up on a variac and tested it, and I was able to get sound out of it, and it would sound different at different points on the dial, but it would not receive stations. Some of the tubes look pretty worn, and a few are VERY microphonic, so this may just need a few new tubes, but right now it does NOT work properly. The meter did not move, but I don\'t know if that\'s just due to the overall non-working condition. All the tubesare there, and I believe they are all vintage USA-made tubes. I did not test the tubes, but they all light up. The dial cord is complete and still properly strung, and the needle moves properly when you adjust the tuning. The volume control with built-in on/off switch works fine. Both light bulbs work. The face and dial are in beautiful condition, but the knobs have a bit of corrosion on the centers. The power cord has some electrical tape on the end and should be replaced. This is currently NOT working properly and will need rebuilding. No cabinet is included. Please see my pictures for details.
