Vintage Flight Jacket Genuine M-422a USN Navy Pilot Leather Bomber WW2 :

Here for sale is an original Gordon and Ferguson co. M-422A U.S.Navy flight jacket. Made of goatskin it dates from the late 30\'s, early 40\'s. The specification label is missing but there is no doubt as to the manufacturer as only Gordon and Ferguson made their M-422a\'s with the larger left side pocketwith pencil slot. The jacket has a 1950\'s style Talon replacement zipper and replacement lining which is coming away in places especially under the armpit. The mouton collar has shedding which is obvious in the photo and the knits are replacement but interestingly they are home made and quite nicely done. Someone went to some trouble to make them. The jacket does however retain its patchpocket buttonsand USN mark on the underside of the collar. Also, the leather itself is in very good condition. It has a beatiful grain and patina that you don\'t see in later years with the G-1 jackets. The leather is supple and has no major damage apart from general wear you would expect from a vintagegarment.
