We had no idea how to mix lots so we just grouped similar items together (our ignorance)
This item as well as the other vintage costume jewelry items that we are posting are from the private collection of a relative. All these items were gifts from her husband who served in the Navy during WWII. A few of the items were sent from her husband when he was stationed in various countries overseas during the war. Other items were purchased and gifted to her when he returned home to Providence Rhode Island and purchased items from the variety of costume jewelry companies that flourished in the state making Providence a sort of mecca for costume jewelry.
That being said most of the listings are pieces produced during the 40s, 50s 60s and 70s, although her husband never stopped showering her with gifts so there are a few pieces from the 80’s and 90s as well and most of those pieces were purchased from Providence jewelry crafters.
We have tried to document as well as we can, given our limited knowledge of costume jewelry, all defects and interesting aspects of each piece. We have also conducted limited research on a few of these pieces to give homage to both her cherished collection and to husband the gift giver. Included in various listings are any historical references that we have discovered about particular pieces.
We have listed a few pieces that we feel are in excellent condition as sets or as individual pieces. Other pieces that may have defects are listed as pieces fit for repair or crafting. Please be sure to view all pictures as they tell the true story of the condition of each piece
