Original Roadside Wood Advertising Furniture Trade Sign Forslund Grand Rapids MIFresh out of a local estate, this one of a kind sign measures an impressive 7\' feet tall and 4\' feet wide. This is the first time it has ever been offered on the market. The Sign is an old circa 1950\'s roadside advertising sign for Forslund Brothers Furniture Company of Grand Rapids Michigan. In my research of this massive sign, I was able to find out this was produced as one in a series of signs the company had made to be displayed on major roadways leading into downtown Grand Rapids Michigan also known as \"Furniture City\" in the day. I was able to track down the only other sign of this series that is known to exist which is currently on display at the Grand Rapids ArtMuseum. (You can find a picture of it if you google\" Forslund furniture sign\" and search images.) This sign isconstructedof a solid one piece of wood that measures 3/4\" thick, cut to shape and is colorfullyhand-paintedand depicts a single rider in a horse andcarriagewith the words \"22 Miles to Carl Forslund\'s Timeless Furniture\". It is in overallextremelynice condition with some age wear to the painted surface. The sign also features 2 long iron rods that are affixed to the back and have openings on the end to to slide onto a rod for hanging. This sign is too large for conventional shipping and is listed as pick up. Payment andarrangementfor pick up must be made within 2 days of sale end.
