Vintage piston-filler Wahl Eversharp Manifold fountain pen, made in U. S. A., with a gold-colored nib in very good condition. The pen measures about 4 15/16\" capped. The body material is pearl burgundy plastic in a marbled design, with lots of parallel black lines, with gold-plated trim. Both cap and barrel are 12-sided. The plastic surfaces are slightly dull due to microscratching, which can be skillfully polished if so desired. The cap reads on one of the 12 facets MADE IN U.S.A. in tiny letters, then WAHL EVERSHARP. The clip is straight and firmly attached, with very good gold plating. It reads in tiny letters near the point of attachment MADE IN U.S.A. (photo 9). The cap has a gold-plated, pierced band (photo 7) that is firmly attached and has good plating. The barrel has a tiny dab of yellow paint (photos 1, 2, 3). I have never operated the piston (photo 6 shows the blind cap). The gold-colored nib is straight, relatively unscratched, fairly shiny, and has a smooth tip. It reads EVERSHARP / MADE IN U.S.A.
This pen is sold as a non-restored collectible that is 100% guaranteed not to work unless skillfully restored. Restoration will have to include fitting a new bladder, maybe even a new pressure plate and other small parts like seal rings, thorough cleaning, and resetting the nib. I bought this pen from many years ago as a collectible and never tried to restore it or even operate the piston, which I assume is stuck.
