Vintage GOEBEL Owl Shaped Coin Bank with Metal Lock & Key •Made in W. Germany • RARE• Ceramic • Matte & High Gloss Glaze FinishA rare, hard-to-find owl-shaped ceramic coin bank from Goebel, made in West Germany, this wise and whimsical bird would make a perfect addition to your collection.
The body/base of the owl is a matte finish, dark brown and rust orange in color. The eyes and beak are decorated with a glossy bright yellow glaze surrounded by white. The head, back, wings, and tail are a firestorm of beautiful, blazing colors - yellows, oranges, and reds - making this unusual bird very eye-catching and striking!
There is a loop/hole on the top of bank for hanging the key. There is a small silver colored product sticker on the bottom of the bank, which has the following printed on it in blue ink, \"Goebel, W. Germany.\"
This item is in very good pre-owned vintage condition, there are no cracks, nicks, chips, scratches or repairs; no crazing. I believe it is unused and was part of someone\'s owl figurine collection; there are no metal marks around the coin slot, no residue inside the bank, and no metal coin odor. The lock and key work perfectly; they are both in very good condition, with just a few light surface scratches; the key has a little bit of deterioration to the metal from age.
Measures approx. 5-3/4\" high, and 4\" wide.
