I purchased this bracelet some years ago from a Tibetan charity organization and was told at the time that itwas created from silverand garnets,and that it came from theTibet/Nepal area.It was being sold to raise funds for displaced Tibetan priests.

The metal appears to be silver, although I do not know the quality. Thereis a green cabuchonstone at the center flanked on eachside by a typically small claret-colored Tibetan garnet. I was told that the green cabuchon is also a garnet. I had never previously heard of or seen a green garnet before and I haven\'t seen another one since but from what I read in research materials, they do exist and they look like this stone. The band is nicely decorated with a simple hand-tooled and wrapped design at each side.

This is truly a lovely and unusual piece, as only original works of art can be. But because it is vintage, pre-worn, and artisan made, the buyer should be aware not to expect perfection.

Condition: Vintage. Pre-owned and worn. Band is slightly out of true. No makers or other marks. Solid, well-made quality.

Measures: about 2 1/2 inches across on the inside of the bracelet at the widest point. Gap is about 1 inch. Band is about 1/2 inch wide. Weighs about.8 ounce on my postal scale.
