Vintage German Metal Enamel Locking Bread Box Victorian Design Description

This is a nice older used metal bread box made in Germany. It is painted in white enamel type paint. It hasVictoriantypesilhouettedesigns of a man presenting a flower to a woman in a garden. The bottom of the bread box is stamped with the place of manufacture. The inside of the lid has a number printed where the handle is attached to the lid. The handle and latch appear to be made out of brass. There are several spots that have been chipped, and subsequent rusting has occurred. See photos for impressions. This is a used and older item that is in good condition for it\'s age and intact. This would be a great addition to any collection or for collecting.

The numbers \"2744\" stamped on the inside of lid.

Box has a latch that looks as if it was meant to be locked.

Latch, handle, and hinges appears to be brass.

White porcelain enamel paint inside and out with Victorian design theme.

Lid is vented.

Box measures approx. 18 1/2\" long by 9 1/4\" wide by 7\" tall.

In good but used condition.
