Vintage German Oswald Revolving Eyes Novelty Clock - Dog:

A vintagerevolving eyes novelty clock produced by J. Oswald,Germany. Instead of clock hands the eyes are used to denote the time. The left eye is the hour indicator the right eye is theminutes. Both eyes have a marker and there are markers on the area around the eyes that are substitutes for the normal numbers. The time is read by the location of each mark on the eye. Many of these clocks the eyes are not properly in sync.While the left hour eye is at the twelve position the right minute eye will show either before twelve orshortly after twelve.

This clock is in the shape of a small dog. The clock does work. The eyes are in good condition. Thecompressed wood case has a small chip on the right foot, a gouge on the top of the head and some scrapes and imperfections. The wind key and the time set stem do not look original. The clock is about 3 3/4 x 2 1/4 x 5.
