Vintage Gold Imari Hand Painted Toyo Japan Porcelain Plate/Bowl:
$15.60

This is a vintage \"bowl\" low lying 1-1/2\" high. It is 8-1/2\" around. Mint condition. The \"GOLD IMARI HAND PAINTED\" logo is hand done in gold with the Japanese symbol pictured. The \"TOYO Japan\" is a green stuck on sticker with Japanese symbols. Although I cannot exactly date this piece, I have fund history of the Gold Imari which follows. My guess is 1960\'s.
HISTORY OF GOLD IMARI: The Gold Imari logo is a trademark of the Yazaemon family kiln founded in 1804. After many ups and downs including fires, bankruptcy, and name changes, it became the Arita Busson Co. in 1953. The trademark was created in this era. The Word Mark \'GOLD IMARI HAND PAINTED\' was first used in the US December 1, 1959. The applicant was Arita Bussan Co., Ltd. Corp. Japan No. 8, 3-Chrome Iida-Machi, Higashi-Ku, Nahoya, Japan. In 2007 they became the Arita Seiyou Co., Ltd, and in 2016 they became the Arita Porcelain Lab, Inc. The US patent Office mark registration was abandoned October 29, 1984, however they are still using the trademark. The company apparently stopped exporting in 2007 and are now only selling domestically in Japan.
