Moss green mohair hat in a fedora style, credited to Frank Olive, as per info below. This one has an almost Greta Garbo feel. It is unlined, and measures about 21 1/2\" inside the hat band, with a 2\" brim. label is \" Original Design by Mad Caps\" and it is from the G. Fox and CO. store. Excellent condition, and very unique. The color is most true to the first photo. A note about the MadCaps label: Designer label is MADCAPS New York, and this was undoubtedly designed by the then young and relatively unknown milliner Frank Olive. Circa late 1950\'s to early 1960\'s.Frank Olive was known to the \"insiders\" millinery world in New York, and not generally known to the public until he broke out on his own in the later 1960\'s. Before that time he designed for MadCaps but was not credited on the label.His hats were among the finest ever designed of that time period. Frank passed away circa 1990 and his early hats are very rare and highly collected. His likes will not be seen again.
