VINTAGE HALLMARKED SOLID SILVER TEA STRAINER & STAND - 1943 - 71.2g:

For your consideration a vintage solid silver English hallmarked tea strainer and matching stand or drip tray.
Please view the above pictures as they hopefully show all in detail.Each bears the makers mark \'EJH\' for E J Houlston, the anchor for Birmingham, the lion denoting
sterling silver, and the date letter \'T\' for 1943.The strainer measures 8 cms in diameter and 12.7 cms handle end to handle end.
The tray is 10.8 cms in diameter
Combined weight is 71.2g (all approximate).The strainer stands on three ball feet, a little lop sided. Handles firmly attached. There are rather unusual marks here and there around the circumference of both the strainer and the tray, indentations perhaps caused during ther manufacturing process?
The tray has two dents probably caused by pressure from the ball feet of the strainer, and that would account for the strainer standing a little out of kilter.
Both pieces have the expected surface scratches given age and handling.Free UK postage offered.
