The quilt is composed of a very old quilt top in the \"Trip around the World\" pattern, sewn to also very old, very rough (almost like sail cloth, a bit less thick than canvas) cotton fabric with a purplish color. This sewing or affixing of the top to the rough fabric was done in such a way that the edges left have no regular width, as you\'ll easily notice in our photos. The wider edge was placed by us toward the headboard, and the narrower toward the feet of the bed. The wider edge has a cluster of grease stains that you\'ll see below, and it is very faded in several parts, but it is otherwise in good condition.
The quilt top, which is the beautiful part of the quilt, was made of old, very nice fabrics some of which might be actual feed sacks obtained in a farm Environment. The rough fabric itself seems to have been feed sacks in its past, as well.
The quilt has very little batting, or none at all, we can\'t tell. It was all sewn by hand, but then the top and the backing were fixed by passing a sewing machine horizontally across the quilt, several times. You\'ll notice the sewing machine tracks when checking the close-ups.
It measures 76\" by 64\". The top is of course a bit smaller. The bed used for the photos is a queen size, 80\" by 60\".
Please, we insist, be aware the quilt has not been washed and it has a slight musty odor due to long storage time.
