An original handmade Native American oak basket in Cherokee, North Carolina. The basket comes with the original tag which says this is a fruit basket made by Rachel Taylor. The original price was $12.00. Made of white oak and dyed with walnut and bloodroot. It was sold at the INDIAN ARTS AND CRAFTS BOARD, Qualla Arts & Crafts Mutual Inc. I purchased it from the original owner who purchased it at the Qualla shop.

The basket has the carved closure at the bottom and on the upper band which was done by the Cherokee makers.The basket measures 12\" x 63/4\" x 7 1/4\" high to top of the handle. My photography makes the colors darker than they actually are. Very good condition. Please look at the photos and let me know if you have questions.
