SS Independence 1950

A detailed blueprint, created in the old style, depicting the famous American Export Lines Passenger Ship S.S. Independence sister ship to the S.S. Constitution. Built by Bethlehem Steel at Quincy Mass and launched June 3, 1950. Subcontractors from thirty five states contributed to the building of these two ships, which cost a total of $50 million. The majority of the steel came from Pennsylvania, the wood from forests in the Northwest and Northeast, the boilers from Ohio, and the air conditioning and elevators from New Mexico. She had an illustrious and colorful career which included over a 1000 seven day cruises around the Hawaiian Islands. Blueprint is produced on standard type blueprint paper and measures 12 x 30 inches….160…..

This is not an old blueprint but a real blueprint made from an original drawing on typical blueprint type paper.
