This is a gorgeous vintage Triple Irish Chain quilt made by an accomplished seamstress. The hand quilting is beautifully done at 9 spi in lots of patterns and the quilterwas confidentenough in her work to use purple quilting thread. Stitches are tiny and precise.In between every block is and hand quilted flower and wreath and then the border is stunning with 1\" crosshatched squares and a gorgeous hand quilted flower and vine pattern on all four sides. The corners are extra spectacularwith a bouquetof flowers gathered with a hand quilted bow. Even the entire triple chain area is hand quilted in a connecting Xpattern whihc makes 1\" squares.I suspect this quiltwas made around the 1970\'s. the fabrics are a cotton poly blend. The triple chain pattern is done with a pinkish mauve solid and a lavendar solid against a bright white background. The backing of the quilt is also white cotton blend and the batting is a very thin layer of cotton, maybe a cottonlend.Its finished with a 1\" wide binding of the same white fabric.The only damge in this piece is a thin 1\' long stain at the edge of a chain pattern. I have note cleaned or treated the stain as the rest of the quilt is immaculate. I have had this stored for over 10 years and have never used it.It measures 82\" square. You won\'t be disappointed in the quality.
