Up for sale is a Vintage Hopi Avatchoya Kachina Doll circa 1970. Avatchoya is a kind of \"Corn\" Kachina and this one measures 13 inches tall. He is in good condition with a few minor issues.His sash broke off and was repaired on the right side ofhiskilt It is very difficult to even notice...see pics. Hisleft leg has been reglued onto the base, which is original. You can just a small spot wherethe foot was glued to the base. He has real feathers pointing to the 4cardinal directions...up and down and a corn cob painted on the back of his head, whichrelate to theimportance of cornin the Hopi religion. The left foot is raisedas if in motion of dancing. He has yarnfor decoration and his bandoliers are leather or vinyl, not sure which, and they have real shells on them. The base has some writing underneath, butI can\'t quite make it out. The carver\'s last name was Huma...a common Hopi Surname. The high-buyer pays$7.50 for S&H, int\'l-buyers pay the actual shipping.
