This clock is LARGE-- 24\"inches in diameter from spoke tip to spoke tip.
Weight approximately 7 lbs.
Unlike so many of Nelson’s clocksthat include wood or lacquered wood as an element within the design, This StarClock is entirely in metal, black body and chrome spokes. It features a centralface in black lacquered metal from which 12 partially embedded slim profilerectilinear bars of chromed metal radiate outward. Nelson’s iconic hour andminute hands have been painted white. The second hand was painted over theoriginal red color.
This is an original clock from1955 and runs on electricity from a power cord, the cord has red caps on asection so the clock can be hard wired onto a wall or you can just plug it intoa socket. It does NOT require batteries.
The clock is in overall great vintagecondition! The chrome is nice and shinny and free of pitting and has only someslight light spots that can be easily polished out with a soft cloth. The handson the face are all white and appear to have been originally painted that way,except the second had, that was originally painted red but was repainted in whitein the past. The hands do show signs of having been “touched up” in the past.The minute hand also has a little bit of the \"white lacquer\" chippedoff, and appears to be a little bent, as well as the second hand shows somebending. The rear of the clock has its original labels and stamps. The clockseems to work great and keeps good time, but please note, you are buying a“vintage” clock in “as is” / “as found” condition.
