Vintage Stonco commercial wall mount light fixture in brushed aluminum and white glass globe. The glass globe is in excellent condition. It is thick glass that has threads to screw into the fixture. The light was used at an old tire manufacturing plant so it\'s quite possibly explosion/vapor proof. Age is unknown. The plant was built in the late 1920\'s and has been closed for a couple of decades. The fixture has a sleek modern look, but has fabric covered wires and these type have been around since the 1930\'s, so it\'s hard to know for sure.
The fixture looks good except for the flat top that accumulated dirt over the years. I didn\'t spend a lot of time cleaning the top so it potentially could look better. The gasket is intact, pliable and in great condition. The fixture is wired with a ballast for a mercury lamp (bulb). Although the wires, socket and other parts look to be in o.k. condition, it has not been tested. Also, these type lamps may not readily available anymore (although some compact fluorescent lamps will work). It may be best to have the old wiring removed and replaced with something more modern. The ballast, etc. make the fixture really heavy.
