This listing is for one Handmade Vintage Inuit/Eskimo Seal Fur Doll, 8\" High, Circa 1940\'s - 1950\'s. This unique, native-made piece was appraised at $350 by an expert in Native American art and craft.
The following information is from the appraiser:The doll is approximately 8 inches high and represents a human child or teenager. It has a seal hide face and hide mukluks (boots) [and mittens]. The doll\'s jacket [parka] is lighter seal fur, possibly adult seal fur. The leggings, which are softer and darker, are possibly seal pup fur. The doll was made in the 1940\'s or 1950\'s.
Each legging has a tear around the \"knee\" area from age. A bit of fur may be missing from these areas.
This vintage doll is from my SMOKE FREE home.
