Isa Aupalukta Inuit Art Carving OtterDescription: Sweet vintage carving of an otter/muskrat/ wet mink by Inuit artist Isa Aupalukta of Inukjuak ( Port Harrison). Great facial features. Wide eyed, posed standing, with a nicely curved tail. Serpentine stone.
Dated \'83, inscribed on the underside with the artist\'s name in Inuktitut syllabics (written form of Inuit language). Has carving registration number

About the Artist
Isa Aupalukta is an Inuit hunter and carver best known for his mother and child carvings, as well as animal carvings and representations of traditional Inuit activities. Occasionally Isa composes a quirky piece.He is married to Martha, who is also a carver; they have two children.
