- Leich 911 Series Telephone (1954) - its dated 1954 due to internal components, otherwise 1938 is original manufacturers date
- Black Bakelite with Pressed-Steel Base
- Coil wired handset with original black-wired base.
- Can be used for Incoming Calls (when Operator-Assistance was available, three cranks on the handle would connect you with the Operator).
The vintage Leich 900 series phones were a magneto telephone with a sidetone-type local battery curcuit in a self-contained unit.
Bypassing the magneto battery will deter an auto-dial if you decide to re-wire this phone (it\'s not as difficult as it sounds).
I have the wiring instructions and bypass instructions for the phone (and links to Forums with plenty of diagrams and options, if you want to re-wire the phones and be able to use them to receive phone calls).
