Vintage Oval shaped Porcelain Box

Up for sale here is an excellent vintage porcelain box marked on the bottom Peint Main Made in France Limoges JK ? I do deal in antiques and collectibles, but I am not an expert at everything, but I can answer specific questions you have. This has just come from a living estate in Maryland. Beautiful antiques throughout the woman\'s home, but she is trying to downsize, so we were lucky enough to acquire a few trinket boxes.

Lovely shape with a tight hinge and flower shaped closure. The colors are bright and we found no damage. It measures 2-3/8\" x 1-3/16\" x 1-1/4\" tall. Wonderful piece here, you will not be disappointed.

These hinged boxes were originally created in Paris in the early 1700’s and were popular among the French aristocracy as snuffboxes.They have gone in and out of favor and were later used as pill boxes.Today they are highly collectible and symbolize special gifts of friendship and love, as well as desirable decorative objects.
