Vintage and much sought after Linemar Mr Mercury remote controlled tin robot, manufactured in Japan. He is in excellent shape overall with the following exceptions:--one hinge on the remote unit is broken
--the movement mechanisms are not working but the lights do turn on when you press either the Bend or Walk buttons
--hand pads have worn downIt has been stored away for 40+ years so it is unlikely that any of the internal mechanisms are severely damaged; someone with mechanical expertise could very possibly get it fully functional again.It has a catalog sticker (Sears?) on the torso identifying it as 60-4820/P.40. (Assuming that it means catalog item number 60-4820 on page 40)We are not experts on these types of tin toys, but according to other items, this is the original model of the Mr Mercury series; it is the one most desirable and also the one hardest to find.
