Up for sale is a Very Scarce Vintage Figural Buckwheat Watch made by LEWCO in 1985 . Also known as OUR GANG , these adorable little guys were always getting into mischief. The package has great graphics of ALFALFA , their dog SPOT and BUCKWHEAT . The fact that a Black Boy was dressed in a Bellboys Uniform was thought to be very derogatory and is what made this watch so controversial and caused it to be pulled from most all Store Shelves .The one shown in photo was sold in previous sale, yours will be basically the same. It is mint in the original package with minor wear as shown. The band of the watch is made of rubber and is flexible with the dial being a 5 function LCD Quartz Watch . It will need a new battery iif you wanted to wear it as it has sat for more than 20 years. The back of the package shows cool graphics of other watches offered by Lewco including Gumby , Pokey , George Jetson and Astro , Judy Jetson , Spock from Star Trek , Fred Flinstone and Dino . Great piece for your Black Americana Collection as well as for Early Film and Television Character Collectors . We will be listing some of those watch\'s at a later date.
