sale is 7 days for a Vintage Louisville Slugger Wood Baseball bat.This Wood bat has an interesting and rare history for the following reasons.First , they were ONLY produced as an experiment by Louisville Slugger,by means of inserting 3 \"splines\" of hickory into a Northern White Ash bat.The purpose was to see if the bat barrel would see less separation of the grain at the barrel end, which was a somewhat common occurrence.Additionally,Louisville Slugger produced these bats ONLY for selected players,beginning in 1961 - 63 and even to 1966.This bat is an R 43 model ,specifically made for New York Yankee Hall of Fame Catcher Yogi Berra.It is a 34 inch, 32 ounce bat.The bats were first put to use in Spring Training, with some models making it to the Regular season,according to research.Whether this bat was actually used by Berra is not known.As far as condition is concerned, the bat is not cracked at the handle, has had some areas see some damage,please see pictures, yet turned with the label up,displays rather nicely,and remains a good collectors item , certainly .Since Berra Played his entire career for the Yankees, (1946-1964) with the exception of his last season with the Mets,(1965) this bat could quite possibly have been used by Yogi.All Questions will be answered.Priority USPS shipping with insurance only, with any additional costs for insuring this item to be paid by the buyer(see additional payment instructions).Pay Pal only due at end of sale.Make sure to read the entire item description and view all the photos.Thank you for looking at this rare and unique item.
