Channel your inner Mary Shelley with The Master Violet Ray High Frequency Machine from the Master Electric Company of Chicago. Thisunit has been tested with both tube attachments. See pictures 5and 6.

This design/model may be the 2B, as it has the same components as the one listed in the catalogue section (picture 10). However, the interior case design is different.

Overall,the components areingood condition. The glass electrodes are completely intact, with no cracks. The fabric wrapped cord has no wear or frays. The handle (labeled \"20W 115V No. M66\")is of marbled black and greenish Bakelite into whichthe glass fixtures are inserted.Once plugged in and turned on, it emits a crackling, scratchy noiseas the argon inside the glass starts to glow. When the glass is held next to something, such as your hand, electric arcs start firing. The amount of sparking is adjustable, via the knob, located on the end of the handle, next to the cord. Includes instruction booklet/catalogue showing the different models and partsavailable (full instructions inside back cover).

The wooden storage case has seen better days. The top is somewhat caved-in.
It\'s leatherette covering continues to flake off - see pictures 7-9.

Their construction usually featured a combination of a disruptive discharge coil with an interrupter to apply a high voltage, high frequency and low current to the human body for therapeutic purposes. Their basic construction was invented prior to 1900 by Nikola Tesla, who introduced their first prototypes at the World\'s Columbian Exposition in 1893. Most of the antique violet rays in the US were produced before the Depression era.
