Very smooth - A rare nib.

The Mabie todd Co was started in New York around 1843 and became one of the leading giants in the production of high quality pens.

By 1884 an office had been opened in Cheapside . London.Initially importing from the U.S.A.

Full production began in 1907 ,although the nibs were still imported from the U.S.A..

In 1915 the company was sold to Mabie Todd & Co Ltd.England , after which the company became one of the leading British pen manufacturers , producing a wide range of quality and often exceptionally beautiful fountain pens.

Finally having succumbed to market forces the company closed in the 50\'s and today Mabie Todd pens are highly regarded by both collectors and everyday users.

THE FOUNTAINPEN.

This lovely, rare pen is in SUPERB, fully serviced, fully working condition.

No scratches, cracks or other damage.

Some minor tarnish to the extreme end sections edges. No clip tarnish. Some minor tarnish within the lower barrel imprint.

As often the case there is break up of the plate at the extreme end of the section, and two small areas of plate loss at the cap screw on point.

None of this detracts from a lovely pen, andmention for accuracy.
