Set of 6 White Machine Lace Tablecloths c1940\'s
Very fancy and formal, machine lace was a lower cost alternative to more costly handmade lace. This set was probably sold in better department stores. Intricate filet lace style pattern, lightweight- near sheer- and soft with lace trim on scalloped edging. Place on top of dark wood or a colored tablecloth for dramatic effect. I initially thought I might use the set for making boudoir size pillows or another re-purposed item but I can\'t make myself cut them!Approximately 11.5 x 16.5machine wash, air dry, light pressing.
...A word about my textiles. Each vintage item that I have described as \"Presentation Finished\" is carefully soaked, laundered, treated for stains, repaired where practical and pressed to perfection. I do not repair small imperfections. I may use spray starch alternative or sizing to improve the item\'s appearance. Please note that any of my \"Presentation Finished\" items should be laundered before storing long term. I recommend wrapping in pre-washed muslin or acid neutral tissue. I make every attempt to accurately describe the piece. Keep in mind that antique and vintage textiles are rarely perfect! Even items I have classed as excellent may contain minor spots or imperfections. I base an excellent characterization on overall condition.
