Up for offerdingconsideration is a vintage majolica black boyheadTobacco jar/humidor.Most likely made in Europe and approx. 100 years old. The piece measuresapprox. 6” tall. Its base is stamped with numbers 2770 and 72.Overall in very nice original condition. The only fault I could findis a hairline crack to the lid (back of cap) approx. 1” in length and not veryeasily seen on the outside of the jar. No other damage. No repairs.Lid fits well. Some lite signs of age/wear. Some typical flaws in themaking. Very attractive piece. Jars similar to this can be seen on page 57 of Joseph Horowitz\'s book \"Figural Humidors Mostly Victorian.\" Would make a nice addition to acollection.
