Vintage Mens Fedora Stetson 3X Beaver Quality Fur Felt Hat 1950s Formal Hat Size 7 1/2 Classic Style Mid Century Black Fedora.

I have a top shelf vintage fedora from America\'s number one hat company, Stetson.This hat dates from the late 1950s .
It is labeled a 3X Beaver Quality Stetson one of the firm\'s more expensive dress hat offerings during this period.

The moment you lay your finger on the brim of this fine fedora, you\'ll understand why hats like this one cost so much money back in the day. This fedora is beautifully finished, it features a classy brim treatment, it has an eye-catching satin liner, and it\'s in a desirable size of 7 1/2. The color is a nice shade of deep black and the grosgrain ribbon is black as well with the original brass Stetson Pin still in it. It\'s a very beautiful color and would look fabulous paired with black or the tweeds and plaids that were so popular during the mid century.

This hat is finished with Stetson\'s patented \"Selv-Edge\" which is is a painstakingly constructed stitch less over welt that lends the contours of the brim an appearance that\'s considerably more refined than an ordinary (and much less labor-intensive) stitched down over welt.

The felt on this handsome hat is soft and rich to the touch. The hat can be molded into your favorite fedora creases & configurations with ease. Although the felt is quite soft, it also somehow feels substantial at the same time.

The overall condition of the hat is very good and clean. I can find signs of light wear but good care has been taken to preserve this luxury hat. I do not see any stains, blemishes or indications of insect activity.
From the appearance this Stetson was adored, respected and cared for over the years. The grosgrain ribbon may have evidence of a tiny pick but barely anything notable.

Inside the hat, the leather sweatband is still soft & flexible and the stitching is tight. The Stetson\'s 3X Beaver Quality logo and Stetson Selv-Edge are stamped in gold on the leather sweat band. The inner lining of this hat has a two-tone satin fabric-this is a bit loose in areas and I aam leaving it up to you as to what to do with it. The crown tip bearing the Stetson crest is white, while the surrounding satin in the rest of the interior is a shade of mocha or aubergine. The liner looks clean & the clear plastic crown protector is intact.
The original box that the hat came in is coming with it-there are signs of wear on the box - one corner of the lid is torn-there is a place where a piece of tape was ripped off the lid-there is some fading-and one side of the bottom of the box is missing the TS tag. The original packaging is all there however. Stunning!!!
All these details are what made The Stetson hat the Cadillac of hats ! these are getting harder and harder to find so grab it while you can!
