Vintage -- Mexican .900 or Sterling Silver Floral Sombrero Hat dish -- 3 1/2 inch x 3 5/8 inch in diameter and weighs 52.75 grams. This may be used as an ash tray, but mostly for a decorative ornament. It has MEXICO stamped on the lower front of the top hat piece and a silver content marking, I believe on the outer edge. I purchased this at sale for sterling silver, but the more I look at the mark, I believe it probably is .900 silver or coin silver. I can test it, but the difference in testing silver really doesn\'t distinguish much of a difference between .900 or .925 in color. So, it could be either one but I think I am going with .900 for this sale. It has been cleaned and polished, so it looks pretty good. No dings or scratches that I can find on the piece.
