Welcome. For your consideration is a vintage original oil on canvas impressionist painting of Montmartre Paris, France. This Mid-Century landscape was signed by the artist on the lower left front. I was unable to decipher the signature but did provide a close-up image for your inspection. If you happen to recognize this artist\'s work or signature, please forward that information to me; I thank you in advance. In this painting, the artist skillfully applies a thick impasto layer of paint to capture a streetscape of Paris\' historic district of Montmarte, known as a Mecca for artists and tourists alike. In the background anchoring the painting is the iconic white-domed Basilica of the Sacré-Couer.

Judging by the patina on the back of the canvas and stretcher bars, I am estimating the painting to be from the 1950\'s-1970\'s time period. This painting is in very good vintage condition. Under a black light it shows no signs of paint loss, in-painting or repair. Unframed the painting measures 12\" wide x 16\" in height. It is beautifully paired with an antique gold gessoed wooden frame, together it measures 15 1/2\" x 19 1/2\". The frame is in near perfect vintagecondition. It does have a very small chip to the gesso on the lower left outside edge. Because it is so small, you would be hard pressed to notice it from a normal viewing distance. I provided a close-up image of the corner of the frame, as you can see, it is difficult to see the minor blemish. This vintage impressionist painting and antique frame display beautifully!
