Vintage Miniature Dollhouse Ornate Persian Rug, Italy

A gorgeous miniature dollhouse area rug, measuring 11 1/2\" long by 7 1/2\" wide. Made in Italy, hand loomed silk rug with ombre silk fringe. Very ornate 1/8\" tiny borders, intricate floral motif patterns throughout, and a unique large central medallion. A diverse palette of rich luxurious colors, including indigo blue, rust and golds. Cream colored fringe. Finished side edges, and radiant lustre. 1/12th scale. Thousands of threads. Loomed by hand, by an unknown artisan, circa 1990\'s. Perfect addition to your doll house, room box, or diorama.

Where This Rug Came From

The Rug is part of a huge miniature dollhouse collection belonging to a lovely woman from the Jersey Shore. The entire collection was collected between 1980 and 1986. She had a passion for the finest miniature dollhouse items she could find. Her collection includes dollhouse jewelry made of real diamonds and gem stones, miniature Faberge eggs from the 1800ʼs, over 180 custom, artisan made dolls, glassware from Italy and France, custom furnishings, chandeliers and sconces from France, carved jade lamps, Aubusson rugs, figurines, Obadiah Fisher Sterling and much more. The entire collection includes more than 3,000 pieces and EACH one is ONE OF A KIND. I am both honored and happy to have acquired such a beautiful couture collection of the finest dollhouse miniatures.
