This item is a set of Vintage Minton Rose A4807 Bone China Demitasse Cups and Saucers.There are 16 pieces in this set; 8 cups and 8 saucers. Each cup measures: 2 1/4\" across the rim, 2 7/8\" rim to handle end, 2 1/16\" tall and 1 1/4\" across the bottom.Each saucer measures: 4 7/16\" in diameter and 5/8\" tall. The entire set is in excellent condition. There are no chips, cracks, crazing or repairs. Two cups have a slight discoloration in the base that is not visible unless the cup is upside down. There are some age dots on some of the pieces - tiny round black spots. There are also a couple of very light scratches on a couple of the saucers from previous use. Please see photos for details. These are some very light imperfections considering this set is nearly 100 years old.Minton used the globe with laurel as their mark from 1912 - 1950. Most of the saucers also bear the Minton impressed mark, only used in 1921, 1922 and 1923. On some saucers the mark is unidentifiable. I can therefore date this set with some certainty to the early 1920\'s, say 1921 - 1925.Unlike the newer, more modern reproduction Minton Rose pieces, these genuine cups and saucers were each individually hand-painted by skilled artisans. Each of the little leaves and petals are painted with raised enamel, and no two pieces are identical. An extraordinary amount of very talented labor went into the manufacture of this lovely set.Even after a century of time, the vivid colors of the flowers haven\'t faded at all! They still show with stunning beauty against the milky white bone china.This dainty set would compliment any get-together involving tea or coffee. The lovely cups and saucers would also show very well with other fine china and collectables!
