This crisp and classical polished bronze sculpture on polished black acrylic/ plastic stand measures 10 ½” tall (7 ½” bronze alone) and is signed A Schneider on the base. Arthur Schneider (1929-1996) was a student of Mario Marini in mid-20th century Italy. Later studies in Greece familiarized him with working in marble and produced a profound respect for ancient classicism. Most often working in a brand of post-War constructivism, Schneider is best remembered for large public commissions in the middle 1900’s, especially in Michigan. The piece is in very nice condition and displays beautifully.
