Vintage NEMADJI POTTERY RED PINK ORANGE Buff Swirled Marbelized 5\" VASE, produced by Nemadji Pottery in Moose Lake Minnesota, probably in the 1960\'s or 1970\'s.
Really great colors and swirl effect, rich reds, with some pink and orange and touch of black over buff clay. Inside is clear slip glazed.Fresh from a Massachusetts estate, likely a souvenir from somewhere in the \"West\". Despite the Indian head that is part of the mark, Nemadji was not a tribe or and Indian owned business. The swirled effect is produced the same way marbelized endpapers for antique books were - using paint or pigment floating on water.
5\" tall, 4 1/2\" in diameter.
Very good condition. No cracks or chips. Some surface grime and a few dark spots on the bottom edge, one dark scuff near the mouth (as shown).
